Technical platform for solid and colloid physico-chemical characterization
Located on the site of the UFR de pharmacie of the Université Paris Cité, the physico-chemistry technical platform is a laboratory dedicated to the characterization of solids and colloids. It is open to all users from public and private organizations for custom measurements. Experiments are carried out with the help of specialists in the technique and/or the problem addressed.
Expertise
– Thermal analysis of crystalline and amorphous molecular materials (glass transition, polymorphism, solvates)
– Characterization of supramolecular systems by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)
– Advanced characterization of therapeutic proteins
Available techniques
Thermal analysis
- Two Mettler-Toledo DSC 822 and DSC 3 differential scanning analyzers (-80 to 700°C) with sample changer (34 crucibles).
- One Mettler-Toledo DSC 1 differential scanning analyzer (-30 to 700°C), equipped with an ultra-sensitive SSC7 sensor for measurements in solution, with sample changer.
- Two Mettler-Toledo thermogravimetric analyzers, TGA/DSC 1 and TGA 850 (14 to 1100°C). One of the two TGAs is coupled to a humidity-controlled chamber for stability measurements as a function of water vapor pressure.
1 Motic thermomicroscope equipped with a Linkam heating stage (-80 to 300°C)
Diffusion
- Light scattering and zeta potential (NanoZS, malvern Instruments)
- Spectrofluorescence (Varian Spectrofluorimeters)
- Temperature-controlled UV spectrophotometer (Varian)
- Steric exclusion chromatography system (Shimadzu Nexera) coupled with multi-angle light scattering detection (SEC-MALS, Wyatt Technologies)
Solid state, anhydrous, solvates, polymorphism, supramolecular assemblies, formulation, characterization of nanomedicines.
