Summary

The VECT-PI project, led by Nathalie Mignet, is one of the four winners of the 2025–2026 Biotherapy and Bioproduction call for proposals.

This ambitious project is scientifically coordinated by Dr. Nathalie Mignet, a research director at the CNRS and director of the Chemical and Biological Technologies for Health Unit (UTCBS) (Université Paris Cité, CNRS, INSERM), has been officially selected as part of the 2025 call for proposals for the “Biotherapies and Bioproduction of Innovative Therapies” (PEPR BBTI) research program.

The PEPR BBTI is a large-scale program, whose scientific leadership—entrusted to INSERM and the CEA—aims to contribute to the development of tomorrow’s biotherapies and their associated key technologies. This program has a budget of €80 million from France 2030 over seven years, with the ANR serving as the program operator on behalf of the French government. It also aims to bring together the national academic research ecosystem and foster close ties with industry and the hospital sector. Finally, it is part of a broader effort to consolidate France’s leading role and competitive position in research within this sector.

The VECT-PI project aims to develop innovative new lipids for the formulation of AI-guided mRNA lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to improve efficacy and tolerability. These LNPs will be produced using microfluidics, combined with modeling and automation tools, and evaluated using innovative techniques.
