The Biotherapy team, in collaboration with the Nanobiosciences and microsystems team of unit 8640 of the CNRS (P.A.S.T.E.U.R) of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, has just published an article in the Journal of the American Chemical Society on the intracellular delivery of proteinsfunctional using a DNA-protein-nanogels-lipid complex.

This work presents a novel intracellular protein delivery system consisting of DNA-protein nanogels formed via streptavidin-biotin or streptactin-streptag interactions complexed with cationic liposomes. The complexes thus formed are called “lipoproplexes” and allow the cellular internalization of several types of proteins and enzymes while retaining their fluorescence properties or their enzymatic activity.
